Sunday School classes are available for all age groups from 9:15 until 10:15 a.m. At various times of the year, the Sunday School hour begins with Children’s Choir for those in grades 1-6. Sunday School classes are divided into pre-school (ages 4-5), grades 1-3, 4-6, 7-8, 9-12, and a college/career-adult class.
During the morning church service, there are three options for children:
Beginner’s Church for ages 3, 4, and 5 presents Bible lessons, songs, and activities to promote Christian living. (10:30 – 11:30 a.m.)
Primary Church for Grades 1-3 and Junior Church for grades 4-6 meet to provide an age-appropriate lesson during the morning sermon time. Children begin the morning worship service with their parents and move to their respective classes just before the sermon.
A well-equipped nursery is available during both Sunday School and morning church time for infants through age 3.
Note: Children are always welcome to worship with their parents in any service of the church.
Experienced People In Christ's Service
The EPICS group are mostly those of us who are retired, but you don't have to be to attend. They meet on the third Thursday of the month for lunch and fellowship at various restaurants in the area. Day trips are usually planned during the summer months. Del and Lynette Israel serve as the leaders of EPICS.
Kidz Club is held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening. This club is to promote Biblical memorization and understanding. The evening includes a time of games that relate to the Bible lesson. Boys and girls may quote verses they have memorized from the club handbook in order to earn awards. The Club is for children ages 4 through sixth grade.
A gospel-centered Vacation Bible School is offered each summer in June.
Youth Alive, the youth group at Community Bible Church, is made up of teens in grades 7-12 who meet on Sunday evenings for a time of fellowship and Bible study. We focus on helping the youth know God better through His word, build strong individual relationships with Jesus Christ, and serve Him alongside other believers. Once per month we have a special activity/trip, and we also complete service projects throughout the year. Our annual youth retreat, usually held in the fall, is a great time for our youth to spend a weekend away together enjoying God's creation, learning from His word, and building closer friendships. A unique dynamic of our youth group is that our members represent various public school districts, Christian school, and homeschool.
We offer a traditional style of worship with a mixture of choruses and new hymns along with time-honored hymns. Our simple style of singing accompanied by piano is designed to facilitate worship that focuses on Christ and prepares hearts to hear the spoken word of God. Our Adult and Childrens choirs sing at various times of the year. Our worship is often enhanced by the talents of gifted soloists and groups in both vocal and instrumental music styles.
The LIFE group (Living In Fellowship Everyday) serves our young adults and young married couples by offering opportunities for fellowship and connectedness in the church. Monthy events usually include food and a Bible devotional time.
Our commitment to proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ extends beyond our local community as we partner with other doctrinally-sound ministries and missionaries such as the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley. Due to safety concerns for other missionaries, we do not publish their names on our website.
